「それ！」はよさこい

Sorry, I ain’t gonna fulfill my promise to talk about Kabuki performance in this entry but in its place is よさこい, a traditional dance originating from 青森県 (if i didn’t get my facts wrong).

Background information on the Yosakoi class that I’m taking… Yamasa offers AIJP Plus courses where there are 4 options to choose from: Option A, Option B, Option C and guess what? Yes! Option D!!! Ok, I know that’s not informative. While I don’t exactly remember what Option A is, some reclused part of my memory tells me its something called CALL Seminar which is kinda like a one-to-one session with the computer and a facilitator. Option B is the semester-end excursion to a list of places available on the website. You can choose to join either the 3-day or 5-day trip. Option C is what I am taking now but it is not limited to Yosakoi dance. You can choose from a list of 4 courses (accurate as of published date), namely, Yosakoi, Ceramic art, Japanese cooking and Shamisen (a 3-stringed instrument traditionally played by Geishas too). If you caught the Memoirs of a Geisha, you’d probably have seen the instrument. Then there’s Option D which is the JBPP (Japanese for Business and Professional Purposes). This is a relatively new program and to take it, you’d have to take an online test and go through an interview. Needless to say, that means you’d have to have already had a good knowledge of the language. All AIJP Plus options are available at additional costs. Yes, nothing is free pal.

For Yosakoi, and similarly for all other Option C activities, the course lasts around 6 weeks, 12 lessons. The current Yosakoi class that I’m taking includes 3 dances we have to learn. Each dance should take us 4 lessons to pick up, though the incredible intelligence of the class has made the senseis 跌破眼镜 time and again. MUWAHAHAHAHA… such egoism (=___=)|||

We’ve just finished the first dance some 2 weeks ago and the very kind senseis gave us some gifts!

The picture isn’t that clear but oh wells… On a random note, if you see this eraser at Daiso and decide to get it, I’d suggest not. It doesn’t work as well as I thought it would.
