I would like to say the picture speaks for itself, but I’m guessing it doesn’t. Bakusute Sotokanda Icchome is an idol group that Tsunku produced. Remember the cafe I talked about in a much earlier post? This is it.
No, you didn’t get it wrong. This IS an idol group. Most of you probably have your eyes on the girl at the top left of the cover since she is the most conspicuous — definitely a desirable trait in the entertainment industry. She plays the role of the Assistant Director in the group in a concept where customers are called the producers. So, in spite of the name AD, she really is an idol like every other girl. If she were in AKB, it wouldn’t matter if she dances at the back of the pack because everyone will notice her.
Of course, these aren’t the only members. Being true to an idol group, they have over 100 members, so I’m sure you can find someone you
would like to waste your money on.
How the cafe works is, each time you visit the store, you get 50 points. And if you have your meal there, you get another 100 points. With your 150 points, you can cast a vote online to any of the girls you like, and if they come out number 1, they get the most media coverage. Now you see the “producer” idea? If you think about it, such an idol concept really becomes like a real life RPG game, or a God game like the Sims. Fortunately or unfortunately, I’m not a fan of the Sims. My apologies if that’s your family name.
