Goo, which is like the Japanese version of Google and Yahoo!, conducted a survey with over 1000 Japanese men on secrets they would never want their female counterparts to find out. For such an interesting topic, the list is surprisingly boring.
#5: Inexperience with women
There is an increase in the number of Japanese men in their 30s and 40s who are still virgins and apparently, they think it’s something to be embarrassed about. But it is also something that will never be found out as long as they do not say it.
#4: Fanatic of a particular hobby
This doesn’t sound like such a bad thing, except when some of these men’s interests are particular genres of pornography that they search a lot on. The problem comes with digital advertisements that show you ads based on your browsing habits and throw up links to pornography sites while your girl is browsing the net on your computer.
#3: Dislike for dealing with troublesome stuff
Even for men who are good at their jobs, those who dislike the troublesome procedures they have to go through at the banks, or the many things to do to arrange for a good party, are worried that women may think that they will not put in effort once they are an item, or that they will not help out with house work once they get married.
#2: Almost without savings
When it comes to marriage, the women here are more likely than not to take a good look at a man’s finances. Thus, these men are unwilling to reveal that they’ve got almost zero savings. For me, I wouldn’t mind, because I wouldn’t want to be chosen because of the amount of money I’ve got.
#1: Anime otaku
The term “otaku” has come a long way and is pretty much ameliorated from its original negative image. However, being an otaku of moe style anime appears to turn women off. I think it’s a little like being a fan of AKB48, which I’ve still got no idea why.
haha I could answer the first point #anime otaku#…being an otaku myself, I wouldn’t really want to date another otaku simply because it’s just weird for a couple to fantasise about the same idol (for example AKB48)..you don’t even know whether you should get jealous seeing your bf getting excited about the hand shaking events.
Hmm… good point.
Never thought about that.
I think in japan when you say you’re otaku, people think of fat and lazy neet… the image that people normally have i guess is like, irresponsible, childish, not practical etc which i don’t think is that desirable in a male partner if you’re a japanese women unless you have the same interests and chase the same idols hahaha. I guess it’s the stigma against the term that makes people apprehensive of admitting that they’re a certain otaku
Imo i think the word still has that stigma, but i don’t live in japan so i wouldn’t know, but when you talk about moe style anime, people think of like, lolicons and tsunderes and stuffs like that… maybe some girls think that is disgusting, or even like they cannot comprehend why would people have such skewed interests and think that they don’t or can’t appreciate 3D women.
LOL, that’s an interesting opinion.
Well, there are people who buy “3D women” or rather life-size dolls, but I don’t want to imagine what they do with them. There once was this guy who went on a TV show with his favourite life-size doll and says he customizes every part including the va-jay-jay. But when the hosts ask if he performs sexual activities with the doll, he actually said he doesn’t, because “you have to respect her as a woman.” XD
omg i just saw your reply to my comment (after years) and that punchline killed me XD
#2 and #3 are strong points,
#2 – if a person (does not matter guy or girl) has work till 30s with zero savings, then, where has the money gone? This person seriously may have very poor financial management skills. Worse still, this person may also be viewed as unable to exercise self-discipline, for instance, could be a shopaholic.
#3 – dislike for troublesome stuff, everyone is scared of doing bothersome things, but showing this behaviour outwardly can be perceived as wanting to ‘leech’ (a better word will be relying or dependent) on others.
Yea, I guess you’re right. Although I was hoping for more exciting content in the ranking. The same goes for women perhaps. I would be worried about a woman’s expenditure if she earns a lot yet saves nothing.
