I got to know this singer-songwriter a couple of years ago when an ex-colleague who is also a jazz drummer connected us. Reason being that this girl was looking to move to Japan and having been writing original songs in both English and Japanese, that former colleague thought I could give her a hand in whatever way since I live in Japan.
When I first heard that she’s from Australia, I had imagined a native Aussie girl going after her dreams but later learned that she was born in Singapore and her family migrated to Australia when she was still a child. I watched a few of her Youtube videos and found that she had nice vocals, but I was more impressed with the number of views on her videos.
In any case, she’s been having a number of live events around Osaka (refer to schedule in the image above), so if you’ve got time, do drop by and have a listen. You might become a fan.

You are impressed with the number of views on her videos. Did you see the number of views of her recent videos? There has been a downward trend….
Not to take anything from her musical ability though, I have never heard her songs. Maybe her MVs have higher views, I don’t know.
Yea, she hadn’t been doing much since she moved to Japan so I guess that’s when it started going down, but 64,000 subscribers is still pretty impressive to me and she did have some videos with over 100,000 views. I don’t know anyone else in person with that many followers =)
In any case, I was trying to give her what little assistance I could since a friend asked that of me. But well, that was written some 5 years ago so things have changed. I guess I won’t be providing much assistance or any form of support now since she’s never sent me the 2 EPs/singles she self-released even though I offered to pay for them and she promised to send them over ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
