Volunteers Clean Up Shibuya after Halloween

Last night was the one night that the police and authorities dreaded. Halloween night in Shibuya is always crazy with mobs of people walking around aimlessly taking pictures with other people in costume, some even stopping in the middle of the crossings.

As always, with large crowds of people comes large chunks of junk. And as always, despite the chaos during the party, Japanese etiquette shines as groups of volunteers who partied along the famous Shibuya Scramble stayed to clean up the streets this morning.

An interviewee responded to the TV saying, “If we don’t clean up, we might not be allowed to party anymore.”

Good thinking.
