Former Morning Musume Member On Bail Announces Retirement

On September 28, former Morning Musume and Petitmoni member, Yoshizawa Hitomi, announced her retirement from the entertainment scene.

The announcement was made following her bail on the 27th after being arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol involving a hit-and-run accident.

According to the official website, Yoshizawa requested for her existing contract o be terminated and understanding the gravity of her actions, upon discussion with her agent, the company decided to agree to the termination.

Regarding the decision, Yoshizawa commented: “I’ve been looking back at my life this last 21 days and saw how weak and immature I still am. I will make use of this time to atone for my mistakes and learn to become a better person and a mother my child can be proud of.” Futher, she also said: “I would like to apologize from the bottom of my heart to people I’ve caused trouble to due to this incident. And I am very sorry to have betrayed the trust of all my fans and everyone who have supported me.”

I haven’t actually seen her on TV or online news for such a long while, I had thought she already left the entertainment industry following her marriage =\
