Japanese Porn Star Continues Filming after Diagnosed HIV Positive

Male porn actors in Japan are getting so worried, they are unable to focus at work following a shocking report made recently.

On October 22, the AV Human Rights Ethics Organization’s announcement on its official website stunned the industry when, for the first time, a female porn star’s HIV-positive diagnosis was publicly announced. According to the official diagnosis, the actress did not contract HIV during filming and did not pass on the virus to other actors. In conclusion, it was announced that they managed to contain the virus.

All male actors who starred with the actress were instructed to get their medical checkup immediately and all were reported to be HIV negative. All front and backstage members involved were given the gag order.

Before the public announcement, reports were distributed to all subsidiary offices stating that the actress had been working as a sex worker at brothels on an ad hoc basis and it had been 2-3 months since she contracted HIV, so there was risk in other porn stars being affected. Those affected the most are understandably, the male porn stars.

One porn star responded to interviews and commented: “According to the report, she was diagnosed with HIV in September. Why didn’t they tell us immediately? To be frank, I’m extremely worried. It was said that more than 10 actors had sex with her since the diagnosis and I’m worried I was one of them. No matter how much they say that everything is fine, it doesn’t help as long as her name and productions are not revealed. This is a small industry for male actors so we often share information with one another, and that no one knew about this just makes it all the more worrying.”

There is an estimated 80 male porn stars now and none of the actors interviewed knew anything about it. Another actor responded: “There wasn’t any rumors floating even a month after the diagnosis. I only found out some time after it was announced when a producer told me about it before I was scheduled to film the next production. It is not uncommon for porn stars to not use condoms during filming now and all actors must pay for their own medical checkup every month and submit the results, or else we won’t be allowed to film. Once you contract syphillis, even if you are eventually cured, few production houses would want to use you again. As we are self-proprietors, even a suspicion of STIs could mean losing your sources of income entirely. That could be why actors who came into bodily contact with the actress can only say they know nothing.”

One actor said he made a phone call to the company and directors, “because she continued filming after the diagnosis. If the actors who had sex with her after that later had sex with a different actress, there’s the possibility that the latter had sex with me. I have to protect myself, but no matter whom I asked, no one would share her name.”

An insider share on the condition of anonymity: “The actress contracted HIV while working at a brothel. She only debuted recently and we received direct report from the company president of her agency saying ‘Oh dear, we have someone with HIV.’ She had already filmed 10 productions then and in all of them, the actors used condoms, and so she likely contracted it outside pornography. I’m unable to share more information as it will affect all those involved in the productions she starred in and cause them trouble so this is all I can share.”

Suddenly being a male porn star doesn’t seem so great anymore huh?
