Explore Majestic Japan during the breathtaking cherry blossom season, on a 14-day itinerary that includes Tokyo, Yudanaka Onsen, Takayama, Shirakawa-go, Kanazawa, Himeji, Hiroshima, Shikoku Island, Nara, Kyoto, Hakone, Mount Fuji, and more.

Our Majestic Japan Cherry Blossoms group tours combine our new Between Tokyo and Osaka itinerary with our highly popular Best of Japan Cherry Blossoms (Reverse) tours for a well-rounded 14-day group tour that offers both the chance to experience the top must-see destinations of Japan combined with less-touristy locations in more out- of-the-way regions. Together, they paint a picture of Majestic Japan: onsen baths, rare local experiences, traditional and modern Japanese cityscapes, and incredible seasonal beauty. This cherry blossom tour showcases the beauty of pale pink blossoms found in the parks and wild landscapes across Japan.

This itinerary departs from Tokyo, traveling towards Yudanaka Onsen, and stopping in Takasaki for a Daruma Doll Painting Experience and in Karuizawa to admire the beauty of the Stone Church and Shiraito Waterfall. In Yudanaka, visit the cute and curious Snow Monkeys, who can be admired all throughout the year, then go to Matsumoto to study the famous artworks at the Japan Ukiyo-e Museum. Explore Takayama’s Old Town and browse the stalls at its Morning Market, then go to UNESCO World Heritage village Shirakawa-go to appreciate its unique “gassho-zukuri” architecture featuring thick thatched roofs. In Kanazawa, stroll Kenrokuen Garden, one of Japan’s Three Great Gardens, and try your hand at decorating with real gold leaf at a local experience. We stop for the evening in Osaka before traveling to Himeji to behold the breathtaking white tower of Himeji Castle, then to Kurashiki to stroll beside its charming canals. The tour continues to Hiroshima, to see the thought-provoking monuments in the Peace Memorial Park and the profound exhibits in the A-Bomb Museum. At nearby Miyajima, we see the captivating Floating Gate of Itsukushima Shrine before taking a drive along the scenic Shimanami Kaido, which crosses the Seto Inland Sea to Shikoku, spending a day on the island admiring its majestic beauty. Embark on a cruise down the Oboke Gorge, which sits at the mouth of the breathtaking Iya Valley. Along the cruise, you will be able to appreciate its fascinating rock formations. We stop in Takamatsu to stroll through idyllic Ritsurin Garden, which is widely considered one of Japan’s loveliest gardens - especially during cherry blossom season. From there, the tour heads back from Shikoku to the main island, stopping first in Kobe for a meal of mouthwatering Wagyu beef, and then in Nara to meet the friendly Sika deer outside Todaiji Temple, before arriving in Kyoto. Kyoto is the ancient capital and a city full of temples, shrines, and ancient history, and our tour includes only the most picturesque of scenes: Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine with its thousand gates, the Zen Garden of Tenryuji Temple, the shimmering phoenix of the Golden Pavilion, Kiyomizu Temple’s broad veranda and sacred springs - all of the ancient buildings adorned with lovely cherry blossoms. This itinerary includes beautiful Maruyama Park, one of the best places in the city for enjoying the pastel pink blooms, with an elegant Shidarezakura, or “weeping cherry tree” at the park’s center. While in Kyoto, we also enjoy a Green Tea Ceremony hosted by a Maiko and stroll through the Gion Geisha District. We make our way from there to Tokyo, stopping briefly for sightseeing in Koka and Hikone, then enjoying a short bullet train ride to Hakone to take in the stunning views of Mount Fuji and the region around it before finally arriving in Tokyo. Enjoy the best of Japan’s busiest city: Shibuya Crossing, Tsukiji Outer Market, a Sushi-making Experience, Ueno Park (lovely with cherry blossoms!) Asakusa Sensoji Temple, and Tokyo SkyTree, before the end of the tour.

Join our Majestic Japan Cherry Blossoms group tour for a 2-week Japan trip that seamlessly combines the most important and popular destinations in the country with special off-the-beaten-path countryside experiences for an unforgettable 2-week travel experience.
