Join this 16-day summer tour from lavender flowers of Hokkaido to the top sightseeing destinations of the Japan mainland, plus Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai!

This tour is the combination of our current "Charms of Hokkaido: Lavenders & Summer Flowers" and "The Golden Route Japan Tour Summer (Reverse)" with an additional day in Osaka for the Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai.

Expo 2025 Osaka is a global event in Japan showcasing future technologies, cultural exhibits, and sustainability solutions. The event features national pavilions, an innovation zone, and artistic installations. Visitors can explore themes like future living, sustainability, and cultural exchange while enjoying entertainment and international cuisine. The Expo aims to foster collaboration and envision a better future.

You can experience the "must-see" tourist attractions in Tokyo and Kyoto, as wells as the Summer Flowers in Hokkaido when joining this tour.

Summer is the best season to visit Hokkaido. It’s the prefecture with the mildest climate in summer. It’s not as hot and humid during the day, and it cools down ever so nicely during the evening making each night all the more enjoyable. Furthermore, Hokkaido offers beautiful nature and flower fields which are best explored during the summer time.

Lavender flowers have been cultivated in Hokkaido for more than half a century. When the arrival of lower priced, imported lavender led to a decrease in demand for Hokkaido's lavender in the 1960s and 70s, the local lavender's main function shifted from agricultural product to tourist attraction. Nowadays, Hokkaido's lavender fields attract large numbers of visitors to the region every summer. The majority of lavenders start blooming in late June and reach its peak from around early July to early August. Another unforgettable view of Hokkaido’s summer is the vivid panorama of yellow sunflower fields. Many other flowers make Hokkkaido an attractive destination outside of the lavender season, as well. The main season for flower viewing takes place between June and September. Flowers include rape blossoms, poppies and lupins from June, lilies from July and sunflowers, salvias and cosmos from August and September.

We will visit Lake Toya, Hakodate, Lake Onuma, Noboribetsu, Shiraoi, Furano, Biei, Otaru and Sapporo. After travelling from Hokkaido to Honshu Island by domestic flight, we will continue to Osaka for it's Osaka Castle. We will then take you visit Nara, where you will be inspired by the intricate architecture and towering monuments, including the Great Buddha statue, and you'll understand why this city is considered the birthplace of Buddhism in Japan. Spend two days in the ancient city of Kyoto, where you will have exclusive access to the city's gardens, temples, shrines, and specialty shops. You will also have the opportunity to enjoy a green tea ceremony with an apprentice geisha (maiko).

Visit Miho Museum, a stunning architecture that accentuates the surrounding nature while exhibiting a variety of items from different ancient civilizations. The museum has been listed as one of the "1000 Places To See Before You Die". From there, visit Koka Ninja Mansion. This mansion was once a ninja residence, equipped with many ingenious traps and devices designed to prevent intruders and to provide a means of escape in times of need. Then, experience riding one of Japan's Shinkansen bullet trains before transferring to Hamanako Kanzanji Onsen. There, you'll stay at an onsen hotel (Japanese style room), where you can unwind in the hot springs (onsen) and savor dinner in the comfort of your hotel.

Spend a day at Hakone and world famous Mt. Fuji. Then, enjoy comprehensive touring in Tokyo. Explore Tokyo's cultural landmarks, fashionable neighborhoods, and diverse shopping districts on a private guided tour. Learn how to make your own sushi with a professional sushi chef and savor your delicious creations. Explore attractions like the bustling streets of Shibuya, Asakusa district with an atmosphere of old Tokyo, Japan's largest and busiest fish market, drive by the historical Imperial Palace, and take in the view from the record-breaking Tokyo Skytree’s main observation deck.
