This is a perfect tour for travelers who want to visit the well- known regions of Japan…plus enjoy the Obara Shikizakura Festival, where fall foliage and cherry blossoms appear at the same time.

Japan is well-known for seasonal beauty; its splendid cherry blossoms and regal autumn leaves present travelers with a dilemma: which should I plan to enjoy on while on vacation in Japan? The town of Obara offers the ideal solution: come and see both the autumn leaves and cherry blossoms at the same time! The Obara- variety cherry trees are called Shikizakura, or "four- seasons cherry trees". They bloom twice a year: appearing once in the spring, then returning in the autumn just as the fall foliage reaches its brightest intensity. The Shikizakura trees usually begin budding in late October, coming into their fullest bloom from mid to late November. On this tour, we will take advantage of the season to enjoy this rare and incredibly beautiful fantasy scene.

Like our other "Best of Japan Tour " itineraries, this tour is designed for people who want to see the most popular sights in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hiroshima plus an opportunity to visit the Japanese Alps regions - Takayama. In addition, you will also visit Shirakawa-go and Kanazawa on this tour. This tour caters to a wide variety of interests from culture, architecture, nature, onsen spa baths, to 21st century sights.

Our private guides and drivers will help you navigate Tokyo's cultural landmarks, fashionable neighborhoods, diverse shopping districts. Learn how to make your own sushi with a professional sushi chef and savor your delicious creations. Explore attractions like the Asakusa district with an atmosphere of old Tokyo, Japan's largest and busiest fish market, drive by the historical Imperial Palace, and take in the view from the record-breaking Tokyo Skytree’s main observation deck.

See how impressive mother nature is at Hakone and Mt. Fuji. Stay at an onsen hotel (Japanese style room), where you will have dinner and can unwind in the hot springs (onsen). Visit the Obara Shikizakura Festival to see both the fiery red and orange autumn leaves and the soft pink cherry blossoms en route to Takayama, located amongst the Japanese Alps. Due to their remote location, these places are beautifully preserved and developed their own culture that is unique from the rest of Japan. Visit the charming village of Shirakawa-go and understand what gassho-zukuri architectural style is. In Kanazawa, stroll the beautiful Kenrokuen Garden and see what six attributes make a perfect landscape.

Spend two days in the ancient city of Kyoto. where you will have exclusive access to the city's gardens, temples, shrine, castle and specialty shops. You'll also get the opportunity to experience a traditional green tea ceremony hosted by an apprentice geisha (maiko) and stroll the beautiful Arashiyama, the outskirt of Kyoto, famous for its beautiful autumn leaves. At the ancient capital of Nara, you will visit Todaiji Temple and a deer park where 1,000 Sika deer roam free. You will also visit Osaka and have a chance to see why Osaka is called the "night life city."

Visit the famous Himeji Castle and the photogenic canal area of Kurashiki. In Hiroshima, visit the Peace Memorial Museum and Park, then head on to Miyajima to view the famed vermilion Torii Gate of Itsukushima Shrine. At high tide, the gates look like they're floating on the sea. Then, drive through the Shimanami Kaido, a 60 kilometer long toll road that connects Japan's main island of Honshu to the island of Shikoku, passing over six small islands in the Seto Inland Sea.

In Shikoku Island, you will visit the Ritsurin Garden in Takamatsu, enjoy a relaxing boat ride, and take in the panoramic views of the Oobokekyo Gorge. On this tour you will also have a chance to savor the world famous Wagyu beef in Kobe. This itinerary is perfect for those who want to visit the well known regions of Japan.
