The prices posted on our website are the land-only tour prices. If U.S. passengers would like an airfare quote, please contact All Japan Tours and request dates and prices. For passengers residing outside of the U.S., we can assist you with flight itineraries to help you plan flights.
A ryokan is a traditional Japanese-style inn that has tatami floor mats. A futon bed is placed on the tatami floor. Passengers may also request Western-style beds, especially if they have bad backs. However, availability for Western-style beds is not guaranteed.
Our clients can request vegetarian meals or special meals that avoid allergies.
Our tours travel by private coach, so our passengers do not have to walk too often to get from one site to another. Your luggage will also be taken with you in the coach's storage area so you will not have to carry luggage with you from hotel to hotel.
Some hotels, ATM's, and airports are all locations where you can get your currency exchanged, however, we recommend that passengers exchange their currency at the airport instead. If you plan on using your card for ATMs, it is recommended that passengers use participating post-offices, and 7-Eleven's ATMs. However, passengers are suggested to check with their card companies for more information regarding service fees that may apply.
If natural disasters where to occur and we determine that the tour is no longer safe for passengers, we will cancel the tour and refund the tour price back to the passengers.
In cases where a natural disaster occurs after tours have already begun, All Japan Tours will refund the price of the unused tour portions back to the passengers of that tour.
The majority of our tours require a US$200 deposit per person to hold the space at the time of booking. The tour deposit is non-refundable. Some tours will require a different deposit amount to hold the space. The amount required will be listed on the tour’s information page.
The final payment is due 2 months prior to departure. Payment can be made in US Dollars by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover credit cards, PayPal, cashier's check, personal check or money order from a US Bank or by bank wire transfer. Contact us for our bank information if paying by wire transfer.
We have English-speaking clients from many nations, prevalently from nations like the U.S., the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, and Canada who have traveled with us.
Please check the individual tour to determine whether it has a guaranteed departure. While some tours have guaranteed departure, others require a minimum of four passengers before departure is guaranteed. If the tour has guaranteed departure, then we will run the tour regardless of passenger count. If it is not guaranteed, the tour page will show how many bookings are still needed before guaranteed departure.
If we do not end up getting enough bookings to guarantee a tour's departure, we will cancel the tour and inform all booked passengers three months prior to the departure date. In this situation, we can either issue a refund (including deposit) or, if the guest wants to re-book for a later date, we can transfer the amount paid to that tour.
In this situation, this group tour itinerary will be considered as a custom private tour, and the cost will be calculated according to how many people are in your group. Although you might request the exact same itinerary, the price will depend on how many people there are in your group to split the cost of the tour.
All Japan Tours will be able to provide a wheel chair upon request, however, All Japan Tours will not be able to assist those with special needs throughout the tour. If personal attention is required, we ask that individual passengers bring their own assistants for their tour plans. Passengers may also bring their own wheel chairs on this tour. Our tour guides are all English-speaking guides, they do not require for their passengers to speak any Japanese. Although we do encourage our guests to practice speaking the language and study the culture, it is not required on the tours.
The coach or tour bus does not allow for smoking.
Japan's water is drinkable.
There are only two offices currently available; one is located in the United States (Pacific Standard Time) and the other one is located in Tokyo, Japan.
Traditional onsen (hot springs) do not allow clothing or bathing suits into the hot springs.

There are four room accommodations that are available for passengers. The first is the single room that requires a single supplement and is meant for single occupancy. Next is the twin room, which is a room where two occupants have their own separate bed to use, while the double is meant for two people who will use one bed together. Lastly is the triple occupancy room, which has three separate beds, one for each person in one shared room.
You may cancel the Reservation in writing at any time. If you cancel the Reservation or fail to pay the price in accordance with the payment terms above, then All Japan Tours reserves the right to charge cancellation fees as follows:
More than 60 days before Departure Date: Deposit only
30 days to 59 days before Departure Date: 50% of the price
15 days to 29 days before Departure Date: 75% of the price
14 days or less before Departure Date: 100% of the price
The date of cancellation shall be deemed to be the date on which All Japan Tours receives written notice of cancellation.
For passengers with passports not from the U.S., Canada, the U.K., or Australia, you may need a visa to enter Japan. All Japan Tours can provide passengers with necessary documents like a letter of invitation, however, passengers must personally apply for a visa at their closest Japanese embassy on their own.
All Japan Tours may be able to arrange a roommate for the passenger if another solo traveler for the same tour requests the same option. However, please understand that we cannot really guarantee a roommate. For further information, please contact us by e-mail or phone.
It is recommended to bring comfortable shoes and clothing for the tours. Our group tours do not require formal wear, it is generally acceptable if passengers wear casual clothing of their choice.
If passengers would like to arrive or stay longer in Japan before or after our tour, All Japan Tours can assist in their accommodations. Passengers must let us know at their earliest convenience.
Rental phones, pocket Wi-Fi, and regular internet access are recommended options for those who would like to stay connected while participating in their tour of Japan. For more information, All Japan Tours clients can contact our U.S. office by e-mail or phone.
Although we do not have luggage restrictions, we do advise that you follow your airline's luggage restrictions.
Travel packages for our tours are usually sent one month prior to departure after the full payment is made. Please be aware that, in rare circumstances, it may be a few days delayed. The travel package includes a detailed itinerary, local contacts, and our Tour Handbook. The travel package will be sent out by email as a set of PDF attachments.
Entry to Japan does not require any special vaccinations.
Laundry services are available at the hotels, however, your tour guide can also suggest the coin-laundry centers nearest to the tour hotels.
AJT representatives will have an AJT logo sign with them when picking up and meeting passengers.
Japan is a tip-free country. At All Japan Tours, we do not have tipping guidelines or expect to receive gratuities from our customers. It is up to your discretion to tip our staff in Japan only if you believe that you have received excellent service from them. Our suggestion for the tip is between US$3 - $10 per person per day for the guide, and between US$2 - $5 per person per day for the driver.
Depending on the quality of the meal and the availability, lunch meals can be purchased at around 500 to 1500 yen, and dinner meals can be purchased at around 800 to 2000 yen.
