The picture speaks for itself.
Why does getting out of the station midway and getting back in cost less? If I ever need to get to Okazaki from Owari-Ichinomiya station, I’ll make sure I exit at Nagoya first. Wouldn’t you?

The travelling time on the direct route could be shorter than that on the indirect route (train hopping at Nagoya).
I suppose a shorter travelling time commands a premium. =)
Hi,
I am shopping for a language school to learning Japanese.
May I know where did you learn Japanese in Singapore?
Thanks!
Hi, if you do a search, there are quite a number of Japanese language schools in Singapore. I’ve studied at 2 before and the first one was actually not bad but there were issues at the staff level so I don’t really wanna recommend that school. And I shall avoid naming it. The 2nd school I studied at was Aoba Language Centre. It was not bad too but I haven’t studied there in over 5 years so I don’t know how things have changed.
Apart from the above, there are some really famous schools like Ikoma, Yano, Bunka, JCS etc. I’ve heard really good reviews about Ikoma and Yano and personally know people studying at Ikoma. For Yano, some many years ago, the original owners sold the school to someone else and left Singapore so I don’t know about the new management and curriculum.
Bunka has a patented teaching methodology that they boast of on their website. Again, I know people studying there and people who have studied there. Frankly, I saw the materials and I don’t like their way of teaching. Pardon my audacity to raise a personal opinion. I think their teaching methodology sucks and it makes learning a lot difficult.
JCS class is too big for me. I heard that each class has got over 20 people.
As a disclaimer, I shall maintain that the above are all to the best of my knowledge and all personal opinions which shall be taken as reference and not as the truth. Do google the schools and find out more for yourself. I believe most offer free trial lessons.
Thanks for the great info!
I visited Ikoma and Bunka personally this week and requested for a sit-in but both do not allow it. Not even for 10 minutes! =[
I think like Ikoma better. The location is convenient and the staff are friendly.
Bunka allows only 2 free make-up classes whereas Ikoma is more flexible about it.
Read some forums and the reviews on Ikoma are generally positive.
Have a Happy New Year!
Glad that I could help in some way.
Happy New Year to you too!
You can try learning at Learn Japanese In Singapore cos it’s cheaper than the rest. I’ve heard rave reviews that the teacher is really patient and makes his lessons enjoyable!
